On 20 January, Vinaròs celebrates a festival in honour of the patron saint of the town, Saint Sebastian. This celebration is a local favourite as the townspeople are greatly devoted to Saint Sebastian. On this day, people undertake a pilgrimage to the hermitage, 6 km. away from the town, located on top of El Puig. Visitors can also enjoy folklore performances, a mass ceremony, and a community “paella” meal.
