King prawn festivals

The King Prawn Festival is the longest-running and most traditional culinary event organised in Vinaròs. Over 300 kg of this flavourful crustacean will be shared during this event, not to mention all of the delicious cocs and traditional sweets, which hundreds of local residents and visitors enjoy in a vibrant, open-air venue with live music.

The 1965 festival entailed a “before and after”, both for the event and for the population in general, given that the guest of honour was none other than the famous painter Salvador Dalí, whose visit put Vinaròs on the tourist map of Spain and made everyone aware of its most outstanding culinary product: the king prawn.
